Arrival Arusha

Day 2
Tarangire National Park
Overnight at the Public Campsite at Tarangire full boardAfter breakfast, driving to Tarangire, Tanzania’s fifth largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. Driving time without game viewing – 2 hours. Day 3
Lake Manyara National Park
Overnight at a public campsite at Lake Manyara. Full boardIn the morning you’ll drive across the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park. This beautiful park with its lush vegetation and tropical forests of giant fig and mahogany trees, takes its name from the Masai word for “euphorbia tirucalli”, a bush which is used to make a thorny hedge to protect their cattle. Elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and a variety of antelope inhabit the park as well as a variety of monkeys and a large population of hippos. If you are lucky you may see the Manyara lions, well known for their tree climbing habits, lazily resting on the branches of an “Acacia tortilis” tree. The birdlife is also abundant with flamingos, pelicans, hornbills and plenty of forest species. Driving time without game viewing 2 – 2, 5 hours. Overnight at a public campsite at Lake Manyara. Day 4-5
Serengeti National Park
2 Overnight at a public campsite at Central or Eastern Serengeti. Full boardFrom Lake Manyara you proceed via the Rift Valley Escarpment and Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area towards Serengeti one of the most famous wildlife conservation areas in the world. First you reach for a short walk at the Naabi Hill Kopjes (huge granite boulders) where you can go for a short walk. After lunch you continue on game drives all afternoon at the vast Serengeti National Park, one of the most famous game reserves worldwide and named after the ancient Masai word ‘Siringet’, meaning endless plains. Driving time without game viewing 4-5 hours. 2 Overnight at a public campsite at Central or Eastern Serengeti. Full board
Day 6
Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Overnight at a public campsite at Ngorongoro Crater. Full boardEarly morning game drives at Serengeti and visit to the hippo pools and Seronera Visitor’s Center. After breakfast in the bush you will proceed with your game drives at Serengeti until early afternoon till it is time to return to Ngorongoro where you reach your campsite located right at the Crater Rim providing wonderful views to the Crater. Driving time without game viewing - 3 hours. Overnight at a public campsite at Ngorongoro Crater. Full board
Day 7
Depart for Arusha
Breakfast and Packed LunchIn the morning (till midafternoon) you have time to explore the famous Ngorongoro Crater. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations and one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in its natural habitat.
There are various options to spend the reminder of the day (at additional cost):
- Visit of a Masai Village (extra cost of 30 USD per vehicle)
- Game drive at the Ngorongoro Crater Floor (295 USD Ngorongoro Crater Fee per vehicle)
